4531km is a Nightliner bus tour by Berlin Creatives through Europe from September 29th to October 13th – starting in Berlin and ending in Thessaloniki.
Together with Andreas Gebhard, I started a trans-border experiment: the 4531km road trip. With a crew of Berlin Creatives, we were traveling into a neighbouring, but only seemingly familiar region together with those like-minded, but not so well known fellow travellers. The entire journey will be documented and can be tracked in real time via the web.
4531km is an experiment to test a new story telling concept and an unconventional type of communication. Every crew member is a broadcaster & author and displayed their subjective perspective.
We developed a wordpress plug-in to collect major social media outputs of the fellows during the road trip. The gathered content is collected in a timelines and a map. The open source plug-in can be downloaded on github. The tour as well as the development of the plu-in was supported by MIZ Medieninnovationszentrum Babelsberg.
